Dirty Reggae scorcher, dancable ska tunes and damn good hooklines! TROUBLE is the second studio album of Johnny Reggae Rub Foundation arranged, recorded and produced by Johnny Ska. Twelve hard grooving songs that speak of energy, anger, mindset, power, good and bad forces and the overall question how we deal with the current changes in our everyday life.
After the release of this album Johnny Ska decided to take the inevitable next step and open up The Foundation Room as recording studio for other bands and musicians as well. Since the end of 2020 The Foundation Room can be booked for recording, mixing and producing music.
Rocksteady Rollercoaster is the fourth studio album of the eight-person “Ruhrpottska” formation Los Placebos. With incredible 25 years of band history these guys are still able to make you dance.
The new album impresses as usual with powerful brass sections, a lot of pop appeal, a bit of punk and soul as well as a touch of jazz.
At The Foundation Room Johnny Ska and Chrissy Reggae recorded and produced the vocals of singer Carsten, all backing vocals and brass sections for Rocksteady Rollercoaster, which is out on Sunny Bastards.
Los Apartamentos call themselves Germany's one and only Mento band. Well, that is probably true. And these guys are not unknown to the scene since most of them play or played in known Ska and Reggae bands, like The Braces, Monkey Shop or Kapelle#3.
Los Apartamentos debut album “Water Di Garden” was recorded by Hanno Schattow and produced by Boss van Trigt at The Foundation Room. It preserved Mento's focus on acoustic instruments and all songs were recorded with one microphone with nearly no overdubs, capturing that old timey feel inspired by 1960’s Jamaican sessions.
Masons Arms combine Early Reggae with german lyrics. Two worlds that seem not to fit, but VON VORN their third studio album shows how that can match. They dig on authentic Hammond organ sounds, musically inspired by artists like Jackie Mittoo, The Upsetters and of course The Aggrolites and call their sound Punky Boss Reggae.
VON VORN was produced and recorded at The Foundation Room by Hanno Schattow as well as co-produced by Early Reggae expert Boss van Trigt and Germany's Ska eminence Dr. Ring Ding.
